About Me
Something about the intersection between the arts and technology struck a chord in me as a child, and I’ve been pursuing it ever since. Growing up, I spent most of my time lost in fictional worlds and exploring software due to it. The way I threw myself into industry standard programs such as Cinema 4D, Photoshop, and After Effects at the age of eleven can only be attributed to a dose of obsession and wonder still with me to this day.
For this reason, my relationship with the creative process has been carefully molded. I did not learn Cinema 4D to prepare myself for the industry, but instead to create thumbnails for my Minecraft YouTube Channel. I did not learn After Effects to prepare myself for the industry, but instead to create edits of the characters I loved. There was no goal, no assignment, no dream job, only passion.
It has been a decade since then, and before I could realize what was happening, I found my knowledge of each software being used in class projects instead of as a hobby. In retrospect it makes sense, why I stayed up late in sixth grade creating an animation of The Parthenon’s dimensions, but it never really clicked that this could be the foundation of a career until my freshman year of college. Now, as a senior pursuing my Bachelor of Design (B. Des) at Penn State University, I am constantly reminded of how storytelling and design shaped my upbringing.
