Oswald
Oswald, designed by Vernon Adams, is a popular condensed font from 2011 that modernizes the classic ‘Alternate Gothic’ typeface for digital use. Vernon continued to refine Oswald with Light and Bold weights, more language support, and improved glyphs based on user feedback until 2014; updates on Oswald now continue under several collaborators. In 2016, Kalapi Gajjar and Alexei Vanyashin completed the Latin set, and in January 2019, a variable font Weight axis was introduced. Oswald's Cyrillic expansion and better math symbol rendering in July 2023 solidified its status as a digital design staple.
Coquette
Coquette (2001) is an unconnected upright script designed by Mark Simonson. It draws inspiration from both French scripts and geometric sans serifs, specifically Typo Upright and Kabel. The font itself took Simonson several years to perfect, and still continues to be updated by him to this day: the most recent update (2017) adding three new weights, alternate characters, a full set of f-ligatures, and more math characters.
